After a short stint as a high school English teacher, Sarah Key taught Life Skills and Communication at the Tech-nikon of Witswatersrand. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Adult Education, she lectured at the University of the Witwatersrand, teaching and supervising students in the M Ed programme.
She has travelled throughout South Africa leading a team of facilitators to roll out a community-owned and community-driven programme aimed at reducing the ravages of the HIV and AIDS pandemic. The initiative was a collaboration between WITS Commercial Enter-prise, UNICEF and the Department of Social Develop-ment. She developed extensive interactive, adult-focused learning material in the arenas of integrated home community based care (HCBC), teacher support and psycho-social care surrounding HIV and AIDS.
She is married, with two young daughters, and lives in Johannesburg.
